1/30/2013 IMPORTANT FRACFOCUS ANNOUNCEMENT!

Dear FracFocus Participating Company:

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the date on which FracFocus 2.0 would become the exclusive method for submitting records to the FracFocus system.  From the beginning of the switchover to FracFocus 2.0 we committed to providing a reasonable period of dual submission capability to allow companies to prepare for the change.  The beta test site was made available on October 1, 2012 and the FracFocus 2.0 system went live on November 1, 2012.   Owing to state regulatory considerations we have determined that beginning on June 1, 2013 ALL submissions to the FracFocus system MUST be made using the FracFocus 2.0 process.  This means the ability to upload an MS Excel file containing the disclosure in the FracFocus 1.0 format will be turned off on that day.  Consequently, if you have not already begun working on the conversion from FracFocus 1.0 to FracFocus 2.0 for your company, we suggest you do so as soon as possible so that you can begin submitting disclosures using FracFocus 2.0 on or before June 1, 2013.  Please advise your service companies of your intent to convert so they too are working on converting their reporting if they intend to submit electronically to your operator queue.

As noted in previous communications you may continue to use the beta test site to test your xml submissions.  The beta test site is located at http://fracfocusbeta.all-llc.com/

Please remember that submissions to the beta site do not appear on the live site so anything you do on that site is not visible to the public but must be repeated on the live site to be made available through FracFocus and meet regulatory submission requirements.

A user’s guide and training slides will be posted on the menu of the FracFocus website at www.fracfocusdata.org.  Additional training for the FracFocus 2.0 system will be coordinated through the Independent Petroleum Association of America [email protected] and individual state oil and gas associations.

If you have specific questions regarding the FracFocus 2.0 process that your Company’s FracFocus administrator/ representative cannot answer you should contact ALL Consulting at 618-382-7581.

Thank you for your continued support of the FracFocus system.

Michael Nickolaus
