5/28/2013 Map Search Issues Being Addressed

Recently, we were informed that users were experiencing a problem accessing FracFocus records using the Map Search feature of the website.  We have investigated this problem and found that the principal causes are:

1.    A glitch in the Google maps system that results in  the serving of a previous version of the map being displayed when a new search is initiated.  This is usually caused by the user submitting a new request while a current request is being processed.
2.    A similar glitch in the MS Internet Explorer browser that causes a previous version of the map to display when a new request is submitted.  This is also usually caused by the user submitting a new request while a current request is being processed.

We are working on solutions to these problems and hope to have a new version of the Map Search program available by the end of this week.  In the interim we suggest you use a browser other than MS Internet Explorer and that you wait for a current search to fully execute before submitting a new set of search parameters.
